Let's Go Motorhomes Website
Keeping an iconic Australian brand motoring
Let’s Go Motorhomes rely on web searches and online bookings for their business, but with an ageing website, they knew they had to up their game and develop a new, more user-friendly site to improve the booking experience for customers. A simple task, it seems, but only if you have the right team along for the ride.
THE CHALLENGE
Let’s Go knew their current site was causing frustration for users, but needed help pinpointing the specific areas to improve. Having experience renovating websites for many of our clients, V.I. was engaged early in the process. We conducted a full review of the existing site to uncover the pain points and gain insight into areas for improvement.
The comprehensive review included online surveys, a technology audit, user testing, and competitor analysis to determine the site issues so we could deliver the solutions. By assessing the site from all angles, V.I. identified usability issues in the booking process and some gaps in the information users were expecting to see when planning a trip.
THE SOLUTION
It was clear from the website review that the booking platform used was limited, specifically the implementation of the booking software. V.I. determined that by creating a new front end for the booking application integrated via a custom API, Let’s Go could take more control of the booking experience.
To achieve this, V.I. proposed building a React application for the booking process integrated via a custom rest API which talked to the booking platform. By separating the front end and booking platform, further controls could be added to the booking process.
THE OUTCOME
The new Let’s Go Motorhomes site gave the business a fresh and modern new look while maintaining their existing brand identity. Consideration was given to making the site appeal to both Grey Nomads and Vanlifers alike, using aspirational travel imagery and simple UX for a more rewarding booking experience. Behind the customer experience, the new site delivered features that helped Let’s Go manage the site easily and fully track booking conversions to help improve their business ongoing.
