Jayco Caravans Website Network
Taking Australia's leading caravan brand on a new online journey
Jayco is Australia’s market-leading caravan brand with over 130 models and an expansive dealer network across Australia and New Zealand. To stay relevant in the digitally-savvy outdoor leisure segment, Jayco knew they needed to improve their online presence. They approached the digital team at V.I. to redevelop their whole site network, including AU and NZ corporate sites and more than 20 dealer sites.
THE CHALLENGE
Remove barriers to purchase and tap into the ‘van life’ movement.
As the first journey in a customer’s potential future of epic travels, the Jayco website needed to make the research and purchase experience aspirational, enticing and friendly.
Jayco’s goals for the project were clear: simplify the model selection process for customers, and reduce the amount of admin associated with web content management, all while selling the lifestyle dream associated with caravanning and motorhoming.
The solution needed to be fresh and modern, more user-friendly, and enriched with product information to make purchasing decisions easier while providing a seamless connection with local Jayco dealers to help customers continue their purchases.
THE SOLUTION
Making it easier to hit the open road in a Jayco.
To handle Jacyo’s large product range and trans-Tasman dealer network reaching, we needed a technical solution that simplified product and content management in a fast and secure environment.
Following consumer and dealer research, V.I. developed a Next.JS web application for the front end with a refreshed look, and a more intuitive user experience. Model content was accessed from Jayco’s internal ERP systems and integrated via a set of custom APIs.
The new website featured a customised content management system allowing updates made to the corporate website to be automatically rolled out to dealer websites.
THE OUTCOME
The ultimate escapism.
The new site was updated and modernised, using aspirational holiday and landscape videos as a backdrop to the products, to capture the imagination of campers.
Thanks to comprehensive UX optimisation, the overall website experience was improved for users, with the added benefit of generating more leads and sales for the dealer network.
The custom solution allows for updates to be automatic across the network, as well as for dealerships to manage bespoke local content updates as required. Campers can now explore each model’s extensive list of caravan features and specs online while 360-degree tours provide enough detail to make their next move.
